It's the 4th and the last challenges from Lego which is the humanoid type;Alpha Rex.
Well,maybe it's the coolest sample from Lego (and the most boast of from Lego). its also disappointing me with a lot of flaw part.Not to mention that Alpha Rex just dragging it legs to walk.Well,as I said before,it just samples and we must learn to accept it.If you've dissatisfaction with it,use your creativity and go make it yourself.That's what the Lego want actually.

To make a complete Alpha Rex,it require 4 parts to build it (Legs,Arms,Head and Sensors).But don't worry.Once you finished the legs and arms,it'll be no sweat to make the head and sensors.
The first problem I had is,the hand not move smoothly.To encounter that make sure you make the A motor power is 60%.Don't make the motor power to high or you'll break the gear or the worst : motor.
Got problem how to connect the A move blog to the sequence beam(a white stick with a hole)?
I got stuck with it for hours and maybe its so easy as the Lego doesn't write it in the instruction
To Lego-I'm not smart enough to figure it out myself
Just press the SHIFT button and while hold it,click the left mouse and drag it to connect the sequence beam.
Before running the program,make sure you make the right hand(with color sensor equipped) pointed forward.The best one is to make the bar (stick or whatever) that attached to the left hand pointing to you (270").Turn the black gear on the right side of its back to change it.
This caused by the C move block to make the Alpha Rex walk.
Note:The C motor move first to different the C motor (left foot) and B motor (right motor) position.It'll make the walking motion when the "CB move block" in action
Ok,here how it should work,according to the test guide instruction:
1:Before running the program,the Alpha Rex's hands should be closed and pointed forward.Put your hand in front of the Alpha Rex and it should start walking.
Ok,could you make the Alpha Rex's hands closed and pointed forward?I couldn't make it and wasting time finding the mistake.Then,I realize something from the video.
See?The right hand obviously
Ok.ok..next.Alpha Rex should be walking when appointing your hand in front of it.Then,stop,and ask the green ball.If you give the right ball it;ll start "dance".
Actually instead of dancing,it'll walking forward.Look the program back.It'll never dance.

One question for you - I'm just a beginner with the Mindstorm. I'm trying to build the Alpha Rex, but it seems to require some pieces that I don't have in the box (these missing pieces are not in the user guide pictures either). Could that be possible? Did you have any missing pieces? For example, if you have the Build-AlphaRex.pdf the piece on page 32 isn't there. On page 37, the 2 long pieces (length 12) - I only have one of those in my box. It's very frustrating!

There are 2 kind of Mindstorms kits..NXT2.0 8547 and 8527.Maybe you have the Mindstorms 8547 kits.The 8547 only have one rode that size 12.
The pdf files is referring to the AlphaRex2 which is using the NXT Mindstorms 8527 parts so that explained why you've thought there's "missing parts"
You should refer to the instruction guide in the Mindstorm software.That's the Alpha Rex which is using the Mindstorms 8547 parts.Gud luck! :D

U must install the software first which is included in the given cd.You can find the instruction to program it on the right side of the software.

I've not make it turn yet,but I think its almost impossible or very hard to do it.try make only one of the leg move forward.

left leg moving faster than the right.Maybe you need to slower the pace.
In programming make sure you start with the left leg and end with the right or opposite of it.so same leg not moving twice when looping.

Hey, I-m having a problem with alfa rex arm, it doesn't move and it makes a high piched sound. I checked to see if it was the wires, but it isn't.
